Ratties! 🐀 Tonight's Togetherness Post isn't the clearest photo, but I hope that those of you who have seen the song "Scavenger" performed live will recognize it.

But here's where YOU come in: When Captain Maggots @maggieroselally sneaks up behind me as the Scavenger incarnate in this insane costume I made for her (I nearly burned off my fingerprints sculpting her claws), I can't see her at all, but YOU can, and, though I am belting my newsboy cap off at this moment, I am actually listening to YOU. There is a nervous shrieking that spreads through the theatre when ol'Scav approaches me, and I know that my first-timers are not entirely sure what's about to happen...is EA (evil EA, but still) about to be eaten? Strangled? Worse? I mean, I've seen the footage and this song live is actually pretty scary (wait til you see it in #asylummusical!).

But no, EA is merely manipulated like a marionette, her hands convulsing into double-jointed claws to match the Scavenger's (I used to scare boys on the playground with these same double-jointed fingers). I am the grave robber, and the creature is my shadow, or am I the creature's shadow? In any case, this is the second to last move in the song...the *very* last is when I throw my arms up, arch backwards, and Scav grabs my wrists, which obviously indicates that I, the Victorian grave robber of real life 19th century nightmares, am just a toy, controlled by an entity more even evil than I. In other words, godDAMN I love this number.

Suffice it to say that the thrill is hearing all of you react to something going on behind me, feeling so so SO proud of Maggers, knowing that she is very rightfully stealing the show at that moment (and so many others;), and which is *exactly* what I wanted.

Thank you all for giving my girls as much love as you have given me over the years, and especially at the shows—I am a million times more proud of them than I could ever be of myself. &hearts;️

Ratties! 🐀 Tonight's Togetherness Post is actually about the short while *before* our togetherness, as the stage is being set up.⁠

Basically what happens is that all of my toys get carted onto the stage and then the girls and I artfully place them wherever they need to be (there is actually a massive strategy to this and nothing is random, despite what it surely looks). My most favorite thing on stage (yes, I would say that about almost everything on stage but it's this thing we're talking about so...) is this "Beware Of Escaped Inmates" sign I made many years ago, and which is usually hanging off the front of my harpsichord along with an absurd overabundance of other oddities.⁠

But I so love the sneaky little peek here into the wirings and workings of the stage, all beer boxes (where the candles are stored I think...or is it the confetti canons?) and gaff tape and lighting cue sheets. You can also see one of the two floral arches used by the girls in "The Art of Suicide," and this photo is, I believe, from the time when the tiny LED lights I'd installed inside them still worked (they didn't last long). Fun fact: Both the sign and the branch and everything else that goes on the stage are in the room next to me at this very moment, as are all of our costumes.⁠

Anyhow! Two hours after this photo was taken, *you* ran into the theatre and crammed your gorgeous selves close to the edge of the stage to try and see all of the bits and pieces that were about to become a magical world where we all cried and fought and loved and ruled together, and the Asylum became yours. ⁠

So yes...beware. Beware of escaped Inmates. And when you brush your teeth tonight, look into the mirror and give yourself a wink...because *you* are the escaped Inmate, and you are wild, and you are free, and you are beautiful.⁠

Whether it be a workshop, office, or the corner of a room, put some time into revamping the space you use to plot, plan, and work. Thank the muse each time you sit down to work, create, or dream, and be astounded by how quickly your ideas develop! ⠀

✨If you chose card 3, the Fog has come to envelop you in a soft and fragrant mist. You are in safety and love here. Just rest. Cocoon yourself as long as you like, but you needn't be afraid of the transformation and change taking place. Simply allow yourself time and patience, and know that the butterfly, too, was quite uncomfortable as it shed its skin and grew wings, but wings are your destiny and purpose. Whenever you feel less than confident, step into the Fog, and she will enfold you in strength, transforming your nerves into excitement!⠀

Truly, I'd like to have the sheer brazenness to post head-on photos if the occasion calls for it (the occasion rarely does), but I look at the photo I'm about to upload and think, "What the hell is going on behind her eyes? She's terrifying. Is that meant to be enticing? Inviting? TITILLATING? Egads. Can she dial it back?" I wish I could, rude voice in my head...I wish I could.⁠⠀

Dearest Inmates, I posted a photo a few days ago wearing my not-yet-for-sale Inmate Heart Necklace (in Rose Gold no less) without realizing it, and I received more messages about it than I ever have on any other day ever! (Or rather the #asylumemporium did, because most of you know that I don't check DMs and wisely email the Emporium with any questions.) ☕️ The truth is, I hadn't planned to release this treasure until Valentine's, but I couldn't deny so many kind requests for one with their own Inmate Number on for the holidays, so I've spent the last few days getting it all set up, and here you go:⁠⠀

I should say, I did notice that a rather large number of you Ratties had already found the necklace up on the Emporium without my even announcing it, and I've been busy customizing them with your own Inmate Numbers, and assigning new Asylum cells to those of you who didn't already one, so thank you for giving me the joy of doing this for you—it's an honor(u)r! 🐀 I would have loved to offer the hand-painted custom Inmate necklaces I did some time ago for the holidays again, but there just isn't the time. However, I think that this engraved beauty is quite as lovely in an incredibly classy, sparkly (and less expensive;) way. I adore mine and wear it nearly every day (and always to bed), and I hope you do too!!⁠⠀
